When one type of cryptocurrency is sent to a different kind of cryptocurrency blockchain we speak of a cross-chain transaction. An example is when bitcoin cash (BCH) is sent to a bitcoin (BTC) receiving address.
In this situation, BTC Direct can only try to recover the funds when the transaction meets the following requirements:
The coins have been sent to a receiving address from BTC Direct. From this receiving address you have previously received coins for example.
The transaction has been reported to us within 14 days of the transaction, and you’ve received a confirmation of receipt.
It concerns a single transaction worth more than €100 at the moment you notify us.
If your transaction meets the prerequisites above then we can make an attempt at recovery. We cannot always solve this, and it takes effort and time. There is a fee asked for a cross-chain recovery.
If this happened to you, or you want to receive more information,
